Rolling up from the southwest, and fat with Pacific moisture, the winter storms have brought dramatic skies and light...and snow.
when the storms begin, I watch the satellite loop to see if I can predict where the best clouds and snow might occur. Very often, the best weather patterns are right where I live (red + on the satellite image...you have to click it to see it!)
Along with the light, plenty of snow and ice give some extra interest to the old adobes in town.
